Willie Morgan - On the Wing
In his seven years at the club Willie Morgan never won a major trophy however he is still fondly remembered as one of the few rays of light in one of the darkest periods in the clubs history
Morgan was a flamboyant exciting winger in an era when out and out wingers were becoming a thing of the past
Morgan was twice voted player of the season

However due to a TV strike alot of the goals in our great 1st half of the season were not shown on TV If someone has the Man Utd Season Review for 1985-86 which was included on the 1986-87 Season Review then I would greatly appreicate if you sent a copy onto me

I was a teenager in the 60s, but I can't tell you the impact Best, Charlton+law had on me personally in those halcyon days, when people flocked to see them. Laws courage and fantastic finishing. Bests dazzling dribbling and incredible balance and finishing. And of course Bobby Charltons tremendous shooting.Literally everyone wanted to see them.10,000 added to the average gate when they were in town.Nobody in my experience had such a powerful shot with both beef. That's the rarest of gifts. Honed over literally years of practice against a brick wall apparently in Ashington. He had real acceleration and genuine pace, gliding past players with consummate ease and unleashing those unstoppable drives. Theres never been a finer midfielder coming forward than him. He sort of glided over the pitch with style and grace. My particular favourite was the Mexico goal from 30 yards out. Kenneth Woldtenholmes magical commentary. Charlton!!! He might try one!!!!! A BEAUTY.!!!!

what a player.wen I saw my first ever match(23/11/63) and he went in goal wen Harry Gregg was injured. David herd also scored 4 goals against 3 different goalkeepers (v Sunderland 1966) and on my birthday (18/03/55) he broke his leg scoring a goal in the first minute. so when they say best law n Charlton..David herd is next..

The greatest English player I’ve ever seen. Remember the first time I saw him at Roker Park in the sixties. Whenever he got the ball there was a silence around the crowd there was an aura about him, he looked as though he was on castors the way he glided across the pitch. It says something about him when his goal scoring records for England and Manchester United have only been broken in recent years and those records for a midfield player. Imagine how good you must be if you hold the goal scoring records for both England and Manchester United at the same time.

I am 71, old git, life long Orient fan but in the 60s I went all over the place to watch the greatest front three that ever lived: Law, Charlton, Best. Pitches like bogs, tackles around the waist but their brilliance always shone through. Can you imagine Messi and Ronaldo playing on those surfaces and those tackles?

Sir Alex Ferguson brought wonderful strikers to Old Trafford, but none, I repeat none of them surpassed Law. Acrobatic, flamboyant, quicksilver, a fierce competitor, a wonderful midfielder, deadly in the box, he electrified crowds everywhere. Adored at Old Trafford and by Red Devils everywhere, he will always and forever be The King.
